One of the highlights of 2023 for me was spending time and getting to know the Catholic Impact Investing Collaborative (CIIC).
CIIC has a beautiful story in John and Jake coming to know each other and building a relationship and inviting others “on fire” with impact investing to join together. I loved learning the stories about the St. Louis based “November Lunch group” between Ascension, Mercy, FSM and others.
I loved hearing Sr. Rose tell the story of the FSM Chapter meeting where the FSM’s came to a stunning unanimity in their mission to “Care for the Earth” (around 2010).
As I heard the stories during my trips to Chicago and St. Louis this past Spring and Summer, I grew in my appreciation for the prophetic leadership of Franciscan women religious.
I also started to feel the awe:
I now have the opportunity to stand directly in their legacy.
I see their prophetic leadership and how they’ve invited me and Francesco Collaborative to continue their work.
Dear Lord, I ask you to guide us.
May we have the humility and the audacity to live the example of Francis as we steward this community and work.
