Writing and Rehearsals related to Faith, Moving Money, and Leadership

New York

It was so great to be back in New York this week.

On Tuesday Tim (Veris WP) hosted a great discussion deepening some of the questions we hold as a Francesco Collaborative movement of impact investors. So great to have Kate from the Global impact investing Network, Michael from the Jewish impact investing movement, Caleb from TrimTab (an unapologetically impact-first fund), Beth from Catholic Relief Services, and Christina our NYC FC colleague.

Here’s a glimpse into the discussion:

This trip was instigated mostly by my long time good friend Fr. Jack Fagan, SJ.

I was very moved by the Xavier High School and Parish community… as well as the Office of Ignatian Spirituality which I got to learn a lot more about. So much good work being unfolded.

Finally, I had a phenomenal lunch with Alissa Orlando… one of my favorite rising co-op / employee ownership leaders.

We met through Start.coop when she was organizing The Driver’s Co-op. A leading NYC worker co-op providing an alternative to Uber and Lyft with more than 10,000 drivers.

So much life and energy in NYC.

I look forward to returning in a few months.
